Excellent progress has been made recently towards identifying those green sites in Tenterden considered sufficiently important to the community for their recreational facilities, their tranquillity, beauty, historical importance, the preservation of their wildlife or to the character of the town to be worthy of ‘Local Green Space’ statutory protection – with further policies to be considered within the Plan for the protection of our wider landscape, for footpaths and bridle ways, road verges and green space within developments.
Public Consultation
A public consultation event to which all residents, stakeholders and landowners will be welcomed, is to be held in St Mildreds Church on Saturday 2nd November, involving an exhibition of maps and photographs, morning and afternoon presentations and opportunities for all to contribute or comment throughout the day. This is to be your plan for your town, so please do put the date in your diary and make time to come and have your say.
Green Sites
Amongst a number of green sites under consideration are those which are already or may be subject to planning applications in the future, including those for a luxury care home, 23 assisted living units, 16 cottages and 7 flats on the fields to the north of Westwell Court and across the AB20 public footpath. The 2017 application for that site (17/00708/AS) has recently had 24 new plans and documents added to the ABC planning portal for public consideration prior to a planning decision. If you wish comment on, support or object to the revised application now is the time to do so; once you have clicked on the link, there are tabs on the portal to view the plans and documents or make a comment.
